UPPER LAKE >> Christina Wilson, Briana Binns and Brenna Sanchez of the Upper Lake High School varsity volleyball squad have been named to the All-North Central League II team as recently selected by a vote of the league’s coaches.
Wilson, a senior outside hitter, is a repeat honoree on the All-NCL II first team after helping lead the Cougars to another winning season and playoff appearance. Upper Lake went 10-3 and finished third in the league standings and 11-6 overall, qualifying for the North Coast Section playoffs as an at-large team.
Binns, the Cougars’ senior libero, earned a spot on the All-League second team while senior middle hitter Brenna Sanchez received an honorable mention.
Wilson also made the first team in 2016 when the Cougars finished 11-3 in league and 16-5 overall.
Evalani Clark of St. Vincent, a senior, and Citlali Chavez of Roseland University Prep, a junior, were honored as the league’s co-most valuable players after their teams tied for the league championship.
Roseland University Prep had the most players honored on the All-League team with six followed by St. Vincent with five and Upper Lake and Sonoma Academy with three apiece.
