LAKEPORT >> If you drove by Main Street and other streets in Lakeport, you probably noticed several businesses decked out their storefronts with different colored lights and holiday ornaments — quite the sight.
That’s because many were participating in the Lakeport Main Street Association’s 2017 Business Holiday Lighting Contest. Families also partook in the Association’s 2017 Residential Holiday Lighting Contest.
On Tuesday during the Lakeport City Council meeting, two representatives from the Association named the top three winners of each contest.
Under the Residential category, a home located at 301 South Forbes St. came in third place, while another on 2471 Parallel Dr. took second place. In first place was Jeff and Jackie Hansen’s home on 20th Street.
The business that earned third place was Main Street Bicycles, and Renee’s Cafe placed second. In first place was Redwood Community Services Home Program, located at 390 North Forbes St.
