UKIAH >> Mendocino college’s new web-based scholarship application process is already catching on amongst students. The scholarship application period opened on January 2 and by January 10, just 8 days later, over 100 students had applied for scholarships.
“This amount of activity so early into the application period is unprecedented,” stated Jerry Chaney, Foundation Director and Scholarship Chair.
The new web-based program hosted by AwardSpring was funded by the Mendocino College Foundation to ease the application process for both students and those writing letters of recommendation.
“I haven’t received a single phone call asking for help with the new online application process. Obviously our students love it and find it easy to use. This is exactly the outcome we planned for,” added Lana Eberhard, Scholarship Coordinator at Mendocino College.
Students will no longer fill out a paper scholarship application by hand and physically turn it into the Scholarship Office. Instead they will simply go online and apply one time to be eligible for over $200,000 in scholarship awards.
To apply for a Mendocino College Scholarship visit https: mendocinocollege.awardspring.com. Don’t delay, the scholarship application period ends on March 1.
