
ORLAND >> Members of Lake County Elite Wrestling traveled to Orland on Saturday to compete in the Paislee Strong — Pin Against Cancer Tournament, a benefit for the 6-year-old daughter of an Orland wrestling coach and her fight against brain cancer.
Carter Rudolph placed first in the 116-pound division for third- through fifth-graders. Hayden Fowler competed in two divisions, finishing second in the 103-pound division and fourth in the 108-pound middle school division. Also bringing home a pair of medals, both for third-place finishers, was Gabriel Ambriz in the 100-pound middle school division (16-man bracket) and the 103-pound division.
Lake County Elite Wrestling competed at a tournament in Fair Oaks on Jan. 14. Rudolph placed first in the intermediate 110-pound division, Colin Jensen finished second in the 95-pound division, Ambriz was second in the 100-pound division, and Fowler came in third in the 113-pound division.
Next up for Lake County Elite members are the SAWA Championships in Sacramento.
