The third annual battle for The Shield between the Kelseyville and Lower Lake wrestling teams takes place Wednesday night at Lower Lake High School’s new gym where the Trojans are hosting a Coastal Mountain Conference tri-meet that also involves Middletown. Of the night’s three duals, the Kelseyville-Lower Lake match takes place last. Whoever scores the most points gets to take home The Shield perpetual trophy and keep it until next year’s meeting. Lower Lake has won The Shield two years running and takes a 4-0 conference record into Wednesday’s action. Wrestling begins at 5:30 p.m.
