SACRAMENTO >> Lake County Elite Wrestling club members participated in the SAWA Folkstyle Championship on Sunday in Sacramento where Carter Rudolph went 4-0, pinning each of his opponents in less than a minute while winning his fifth consecutive SAWA title.

Garbriella Fernandez just missed bringing home a championship in the novice division, losing by decision in the finals against Paul Johnson of Elk Grove Wrestling Academy.

Also competing at the tournament were Colin Jensen, Hayden Fowler, Donavan Fernandez and Julian Fernandez.

Lake County Elite’s rookie wrestlers attended the Willits Grapplin Pack Tournament on Saturday. The competition is designed to give first-year wrestlers a chance to gain experience. Lake County Elite wrestlers taking part were Tristin Moreno, Jeremiah Dix, Berlin Rudolph, Lucas Carr, Hollace Stencil and standout rookie Preston Van Meter, who went 2-1 for the day.

Lake County Elite is back to training for upcoming February tournaments in Windsor, Vacaville and Reno.
