Funding for home repairs available

Is your home in need of repair? Are you unsure how to cover repair costs? You’re not alone. The Regional Housing Authority is providing the Lake County residents with the opportunity to obtain funding for their home repair needs.

Whether you need preventive maintenance repairs, or you have an urgent need, Lake County Housing Rehabilitation Program can help.

Lake County Housing Rehabilitation Program provides loans to low-income homeowners at two-percent interest with no monthly payments. Eligible improvements include health and safety repairs, home modifications for disabled persons, energy and water conservation, interior and exterior repairs, and updating to current building code.

With the Lake County Housing Rehabilitation Program, you can preserve your home and protect your investment. Call 530-671-0220 ext. 128 for more information or to find out if you qualify.

This program is made possible through a grant from the State Department of Housing and Community Development. The property must be located in the unincorporated County Limits. Income restrictions apply.

First-time homebuyer loan program

First Time Homebuyer funding is available through the County of Lake. The State HOME Investment Partnerships Program funds the program and provides “silent” second mortgages to income-eligible applicants up to 50 percent of the purchase price. The Counties first-time homebuyer loan provides gap financing and must be coupled with a first mortgage. The interest rate is 3 percent, and monthly payments are deferred for 45 years. A small down payment is required as well as completion of a homebuyer education course. For more information, or to obtain a copy of the current income limits for the program, contact Maria Conrique of Regional Housing Authority at 530-671-0220, ext. 128.
