KELSEYVILLE >> Jason Campfield went 4-for-4 and Russell Gordon Jr. went 2-for-4 with three RBIs on Monday as the Upper Lake Cougars defeated the Kelseyville Knights 11-8 in a non-league junior varsity baseball game at Kelseyville.
The Cougars pounded out 14 hits in all. Jonathan Theissen went 2-for-4 with a RBI and five stolen bases while winning pitcher Diego Velasco and Victor Santana added two hits apiece. Santana also had two RBIs.
“Jacob Pruett played great defensively,” Upper Lake coach Russell Gordon said. “My freshmen stepped up and won this game. I’m extremely proud of my freshmen.”
