
The Sunday after St. Patrick’s Day is a great opportunity to experience Celtic harps, rare instruments and wondrous Nordic stories from the authentic duo of Lisa Lynne and Aryeh Frankfurter. It’s all part of the “Concerts with Conversation” series at the Tallman Hotel in Upper Lake. The performance starts at 3 p.m. and takes place in Riffe’s Meeting House next to the Hotel.
“Lisa and Aryeh will be bringing a lot to this performance,” says Tallman owner Bernie Butcher. “They have mastered a number of truly unique instruments, the music is beautiful, and they weave into their performance many wonderful stories and anecdotes.”
The show features two Celtic harps, the rare Swedish Nyckelharpa, Cittern and more. The duo plays traditional instrumental music from Sweden and Ireland as well as original compositions.
They will present an eclectic blend of music and tales from their adventures as modern-day troubadours.
Lisa Lynne and Aryeh Frankfurter began as progressive rock musicians, and both later discovered a love for folk and world music on acoustic instruments. Six years ago they teamed up and have performed together at festivals and concerts ever since.
Lisa Lynne is is widely acclaimed for composing memorable and heartwarming melodies on the Windham Hill and Sony music labels. Her music is heard throughout the award-winning PBS special “Alone in the Wilderness” and she performs regularly Windham Hill tours.
Aryeh Frankfurter has 17 albums to his credit, works regularly on film and television scores as composer and arranger. He continues to teach himself to play a variety of instruments most recently the rarely seen Swedish Nyckelharpa.
“Lisa and I often go into places that have never heard of us; so often folks are taking a chance on an unknown,” he said. “It’s the instruments and the stories that encourage people to take a chance on us and they always leaving having had a wonderful time and a unique experience.”
“We’ve heard a lot about Lake County and the Tallman Concert Series,” says Lisa, “and we’re really looking forward to this show.”
