WHEATLAND >> Track athletes Bryson Trask of Lower Lake High School and Kelsey Lemoine of Middletown High School won events last week during the Roy Crabtree Pirate Classic in Wheatland.

Boys relay teams from Kelseyville (4×100 meters) and Middletown (4×400) also came away with first-place finishes.

Lake County athletes posted several top finishes in both the boys and girls divisions.

Boys

Trask won the discus with a toss of 142 feet, 8 inches while Middletown’s Colton Hall came in second at 131-11. Mark Breiner of Middletown was sixth at 108-0. In the shotput, Hall was fifth overall at 41-0 ½ while Trask was seventh in 40.11.

In another field event, Kelseyville’s Thomas Green (16-3) and Lukas Molinero (15-7 ¾) placed sixth and eighth, respectively, in the long jump.

In the running events, Kelseyville’s Jack Farris placed second in both the 100 (11.83 seconds) and 200 (23.94). Also placing in those two events were Middletown’s Casey Chicoine and Kelseyville’s Jesus Duarte. Chicoine was eighth in the 100 (12.53) and fifth in the 200 (24.94) while Duarte was seventh in the 100 (12.51) and ninth in the 200 (25.64).

In the 400 meters, Middletown’s Brenden Steele (56.58) and Bret German (58.09) placed fourth and sixth, respectively, while Kelseyville’s Francisco Duarte was 10th in 1 minute, 1.42 seconds.

In other running events, Jeff Amendola of Kelseyville placed ninth in the 800 (2:28.63) and seventh in the 3,200 (12:30.57), Jayson Tostie of Middletown was 10th in the 800 (2:30.07) and ninth in the 1,600 (5:47.50), and Middletown’s Jack Schroeder was 10th in the 1,600 (5:55.20).

Evan Dodd of Middletown finished second in the 110 hurdles (19.16) and third in the 300 hurdles (49.57) and Lower Lake’s Robert Landgraf was fifth in the 110 hurdles (20.48).

Lake County teams won both relays. The Kelseyville squad of Duarte, Farris, Zach Taylor and Damian Ledesma finished first in the 4×100 at 46.51, and the Middletown foursome of Steele, Chicoine, German and Trey O’Neill won the 4×400 in 3:51.44.

Girls

Lemoine turned in strong efforts in the girls sprints, winning the 100 in 14.02 and placing second in the 200 (28.34). Lower Lake’s Elizabeth finished seventh in the 200 (30.42).

In the 400, Grace Southern of Middletown ran second in the 1:05.77, Middletown’s Emily Reim was sixth in 1:09.78, and Kelseyville’s Nicole Stevens was eighth in 1:12.74.

Wetmore of Lower Lake placed sixth in the 800 (2:52.27) and Middletown’s Southern was fourth in the 1,600.

In the 3,200, Kelseyville’s Yareli Lozano was third in 13:07.29 and Lower Lake’s Jenny Landetta was seventh in 14:35.13.

Alyssa Hart of Middletown finished second in the 100 hurdles (19.43) and third in the 300 hurdles (58.83). Her Middletown teammate, Amy Herrmann, added fifth-place finishes in both events while Middletown’s Bryanna High-Young was 10th in the 100 (24.16).

Middletown’s 4×100 relay team of Southern, Reim, Lemoine and Alyssa Terry finished third in 51.15.

In field events, Middletown’s Taelor Roderick placed third in both the shotput (30-5) and discus (94-2) while Lower Lake’s Nijah Adkins placed fifth in the discus (82-3).
