A Ukiah man was found dead near Highway 101 in Humboldt County Monday, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office reported.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the body was discovered in the brush near the highway by a pedestrian near the Indianola Cutoff around 1 p.m. March 19.
The man was identified as Jeffery M. Burk, 61, who had an address out of Ukiah.
Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Samantha Karges said that no foul play is suspected in Burk’s death, and it is not believed that he was hit by a car.
“It is believed he died of natural causes,” Karges said, adding that an autopsy had been scheduled for Friday.
