LAKEPORT >> Upper Lake Middle School’s wrestling team won the Lake County Junior High Athletic League championship on Thursday at Terrace Middle School in Lakeport.
Winning individual weight titles for the team champions were Gabriella Fernandez, HeavenLee Loans Arrow, Cody Banks and Bradley Sneathern.
Upper Lake also brought home five second-place medals and three thirds. Second-place medals went to Maddy Young, Donavan Fernandez, Tatum Salas, Ryan Balletto and Ignacio Duran. Thirds went to Dylan Slater, Jordyn Juarez and Manny Duncan.
Gabriella Fernandez received an additional honor by being named most valuable wrestler.
Tournament host Terrace Middle School secured two first-place medals as twin bother and sister Nathan and Ashley Pyorre captured their respective weight classes. The Vikings also received second-place medals from Elijah Alvarez, Hernan Romero and Anyssa Perez, and a third-place medal from Luis Aguilar.
