Whether she’s batting, playing defense or running the bases, Middletown High School senior shortstop Aly Ferguson is a disruptive force, making life miserable on the competition. So said veteran Lower Lake High School head coach Chris Emberson on Tuesday after Middletown’s dramatic 10-9 league win over Lower Lake in Middletown. Ferguson singled in her only official at-bat and also walked three times, scored three runs and stole several bases. “Aly Ferguson killed us,” Emberson said. “She caused havoc at the top of the lineup, she’s their spark plug and an amazing player. She’s a first-team All-Leaguer.”
