UPDATED:

A former sports official has pled not guilty to multiple sexual misconduct charges during a recent entry of plea hearing.

Bradley Kenneth Pendleton, who is in custody, has been charged with rape by force, three counts of lewd act (the defendant is 10 years older than the victim who is a minor), and two counts of oral copulation with a child under 18-years-old. He has also been charged with unlawful sexual intercourse and contacting a minor with the intent of sex.

The charges came after an incident in May of 2017 when detectives from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit began investigating allegations related to Pendleton.

The sexual misconduct was said to have occurred between 2010 and 2017.

During the investigation, it was found that Pendleton was meeting with girls while acting as a sports official at local middle and high school basketball games.

In February the defendant voluntarily turned himself into the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled on April 25 at 8:15 a.m. in a department yet to be announced.
