LAKE COUNTY >> The Lake County Board of Supervisors reminds the public that tomorrow is the deadline to apply for a spot in the Blue Ribbon Committee of the Rehabilitation of Clear Lake.

The Committee is tasked with identifying and reporting on potential solutions to water quality issues for Clear Lake. Those in the appointed group will also conduct recommendations for potential funding sources for restoration activities.

The California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA) is taken by Assembly Bill 707, under Assemblywoman Aguiar-Curry with the creation of the Blue Ribbon Committee. According to the bill, the group shall meet quarterly in Lake County for discussion, reviewing, research, planning, and providing oversight regarding the health of the lake. The first meeting is set to take place in May 2018. The Committee will be subject to the requirements of the Bagley-Keene Open Meeting Act.

Positions available to which the BOS will review before making their appointments are: Expert in local economic development, an expert in agriculture, an expert in the environment, and a representative of a public water supplier that draws its drinking water supply from Clear Lake.
