LAKE COUNTY >> Lisa Morrow, Executive Director of Lake Family Resource Center, received the Ruby Award from Soroptimist International of Clear Lake last month.
The Soroptimist Ruby Award for Women Helping Women recognizes and honors the first federation president, Ruby Lee Minar. A ruby is also a deep red gemstone associated with wisdom, importance, vitality, strength, vivacity, power, and love: all words embodying the strong and compassionate women who are award recipients. The Soroptimist Ruby Award honors women such as Morrow who have worked to improve the lives of women and girls through their professional and volunteer work.
Through her efforts, Morrow has encouraged social change in Lake County. As past Director of Finance and Operations, she worked to end domestic violence, ensured healing from sexual assault, helped young mothers be supported, and enrolled babies enriched through excellence in fiscal services. Through her service, Morrow has given women an example to look up to, while working in the unexpected role of finance and making an incredible difference.
The Soroptimist said the Ruby Award was awarded to Morrow as an excellent representative with the wisdom, importance, vitality, strength, vivacity, power and love honored by the award. She is a compassionate and dedicated professional woman. Morrow is an excellent benefit to the women and girls of Lake County and will continue to do such in her new role.
