MIDDLETOWN >> Bouncing back from their first loss of the season, a 7-5 setback to the Fort Bragg Timberwolves on Tuesday in Middletown, the Mustangs took out their frustrations on the Clear Lake Cardinals, winning 13-1 in five innings on Friday in Middletown.

Winning pitcher Will Aden tossed a three-hitter while striking out six and walking two. He also went 1-for-2 at the plate with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored.

“We hit the ball today,” Middletown coach Jon Hoogendoorn said. “We’ve run hot and cold with our hitting this season. And we ran the bases aggressively, something we haven’t been doing.”

Hunter Blair, Isaac Perez and Tyler Crudo each had two hits and a RBI for the Mustangs, now 5-1 in the league standings and 14-1 overall.

Middletown is home Tuesday to play St. Helena.
