LAKEPORT >> Hear ye, Hear ye! Year three approacheth! Come one, come all to audition for this year’s Shakespeare at the Lake production of “As You Like It,” proudly presented by Mendocino College Lake Center and the Lake County Theatre Company.
The play features many classic Shakespearean themes, including pettiness among royalty, crossdressing, and a clown in the forest. Unlike traditional presentations, however, this one will be set in the 1960’s with plenty of bright colors, flowers, and of course, tie-dye.
Performances will be held the final weekend in July at Library Park in Lakeport.
Auditions are scheduled for Tuesday, May 15 and Friday, May 18 at 6 p.m., as well as Saturday, May 19 at 10 a.m. All auditions will be held at the Mendocino College Lake Center, room 7230. No previous acting experience or Shakespearean expertise is required. Those cast in the show will need to enroll in Theater 220; scholarships are available.
