According to Lt.Corey Paulich with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the LCSO Narcotics Unit served a search warrant at a residence on the 3400 block of Clyde Street in Nice.

It was there that authorities made contact with Ryan Mena and Christina Elizabeth Muis, 26, of Nice. Upon entering the home, detectives located a Butane Hash Oil Lab. Also found were about 15 pounds of cannabis, one gram of methamphetamine, glass pipes, 61 rounds of 9mm ammunition, an extended 9mm magazine, hypodermic needles, and over $11,000 in cash.

Paulich said that detectives also found a hidden binder inside the residence that contained dozens of completed shipping labels and a log showing various amounts of money.

The investigation later revealed that Ryan Mena was on probation out of the state of Louisiana and had left without permission. They also confirmed that he had previously been convicted of a felony.

The 33-year-old was booked into the jail for many charges including prohibited possession of ammunition, possession of controlled substance and possession of marijuana for sale.

Ryan Mena remains in custody on a $100,000 bail.
