A Kelseyville man remains in custody with bail set at $400,000 after his arrest for child molestation in August of last year.

Robin Clark Harris, 84, recently appeared in court for his sentencing hearing after entering a no contest plea last month for a forcible lewd act upon a child and recurring sexual conduct with a child under 14 years of age.

Harris has been charged with multiple counts related to alleged sexual conduct with a child under 14 years and two counts alleging contact with a person under 16 years.

Harris was taken into custody by deputies from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in August after the victim accused him of providing alcohol and cigarettes in exchange for sexual favors.

According to Sgt. Corey Paulich of the LCSO, Harris was a foster parent to the victim when the incident allegedly took place. He reportedly served as a school teacher since 1963 and has substituted in Lake County classrooms.

During the recent sentencing hearing, Defense Attorney Komnith Moth indicated his client, Harris, wants to look into a possible motion to withdraw his plea.

The Court appoints Sterling Thayer to represent the defendant to file a Motion to Withdraw Plea.
