LAKEPORT >> Tianna Jardstrom won the maximum number of events she could enter on Wednesday afternoon as the Clear Lake High School track team hosted Upper Lake, Fort Bragg and Mendocino in a Coastal Mountain Conference meet.
Jardstrom, who is only a junior, won the 200 meters (29.0 seconds), the 800 (2 minutes, 45 seconds), the 1,600 (6:05), and the long jump (13 feet, 6 inches).
A middle distance standout during her career at Clear Lake, Jardstrom would have had no trouble adding to her win total if the rules had allowed it.
“She would have won the 400, too,” Clear Lake coach Dick Bode said.
Jardstrom was competing in the long jump for only the second time and she bettered her previous week’s mark by a full foot.
“She’s good,” Bode said. “She would have run faster times in the 800 and 1,600, but there was no one to push her.”
Paige Woodruff won the pole vault for Clear Lake by clearing 9 feet even. Victoria Donnelly added a third in the shotput (22-3) and a fifth in the discus (50-6).
Upper Lake’s Alana Sanchez finished third in the shotput (21-11).
Varsity boys
Quintin Scott of Clear Lake’s varsity boys squad placed second in the 3,200 (16:27) and fifth in the discus (93-7) while teammate Jacob Lopez was third in the 800 (3:01) and fourth in the 1,600 (6:18).
For Upper Lake, Kenny Hodges finished second in all three jumping events – high (5-2), long (16-11) and triple (34-8).
JV boys
Donavin Valadez powered Clear Lake’s junior varsity boys team with firsts in the 100 (12.2) and high jump (5-0) and a third in the long jump (16-8). Brenden Jones had a busy day as well, placing second to Valadez in both the 100 (13.0) and high jump (4-10) and placing fifth in the long jump (16-6).
Also for Clear Lake, Donald Mingo secured second-place finishes in both the shotput (3-20) and discus (70-10) while Ethan Scuderi-Schulman took third in the 400 (1:01.8) and third in the pole vault (8-6).
