LAKEPORT >> The 2018 Memorial Day Parade on Main Street in Lakeport takes place at 11 a.m. on May 26.
The Annual Parade is produced by the Lake County Chamber of Commerce, and the primary sponsor for 2018 is SERVPRO of Lake, Mendocino and Sonoma County NE. The stage is provided courtesy of Mendo Lake Home Center & Lumber Company in Lakeport. The familiar voice of Paul Reading who has been the Parade Announcer for many years is returning this year.
The 2018 Theme is ‘Honor America.’
This ever-popular event kicks off the summer season and is an opportunity to advertise one’s business or organization to the crowds that line the streets during the parade, the Chamber said.
Applications are available on the Chamber website at www.lakecochamber.com or the Chamber office, 875 Lakeport Blvd., at Vista Point. Entries are free except equestrian entries, which are $10 each. CSHA Judge Kim Cipro from Lower Lake will provide official CSHA judging points for that association.
Deadline for applications is Monday, May 21st.
Parade lineup begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Fairgrounds and entries are asked to have participants carpool as there is “extremely” limited parking at the grounds.
Following the parade will be special dedications of memorial trees and lamp posts on Main Street by the Lakeport Main Street Association. There will also be a special dedication of the mural on the building at 290 Main Street, corner of 3rd Street.
