MIDDLETOWN >> Middletown Art Center offers its final Writers Workshop as part of the Resilience project series on tomorrow, May 12, from noon to 5 p.m.
Throughout the year, writers from all over Lake County have gathered to join Clive Matson as well as Lake County Poet Laureate Emeritus Casey Carney to write, share and appreciate written and spoken word in the community. Resilience classes are open to adults and teens 12-up and cost $5.
“Honest, fulfilling, and soul-satisfying is the special flavor of Resilience Writers Workshops at Middletown Art Center,” said Matson. “Being close to nature, as well as familiar with disaster and recovery, brings Lake County people closer to the heart. And the clarity of heart is crucial in dealing with both uncertainty and healing. I am gratified, as a workshop leader, to help nurture such raw, forceful creative energy as part of the Resilience Project.”

Resilience culminates with exhibitions in multiple locations throughout the county, and a chapbook of writing and images created during the project, all participants are encouraged to submit work. MAC is grateful to the California Arts Council, a state agency for their support of Resilience and Adventist Health and other local agencies and businesses for additional support.
