LAKEPORT >> Kelseyville fishermen Wayne Breazeale and Jose Juarez are leading their respective divisions as the Costa Series FLW pro-am bass tournament enters Saturday’s final round on Clear Lake.
The original field of 124 professionals and 124 amateurs was cut to the top 10 in both divisions following second-round action on Friday. Saturday’s weigh-in begins at 2:30 p.m. at the Konocti Harbor Casino, Resort and Marina.
Breazeale, the first-round leader in the pro division, still holds the top spot after day two with 46 pounds, 1 ounce. In the amateur division, Juarez jumped from 10th place after Thursday’s first round to first place on Friday. His two-day total is 30 pounds, 4 ounces.
Pro division
Breazeale advances to day three in the pro division along with Joe Uribe Jr. of Surprise, Arizona (40-15); Nick Nourot of Benicia (38-14); Vince Hurtado of Turlock (35-12); Richard Dobyns of Marysville (35-7); Benjamin Byrd of Moab, Utah (34-14); Stephen Tosh Jr. of Modesto (33-4); Matt Dal Porto of Sutter (33-4); Paul Bailey of Kelseyville (32-15); and Scott Mackenzie of Hercules (32-0).
Gary Collins of Upper Lake ended up 29th in the pro standings to win $2,227.
The top 33 pros finish in the money.
Amateur division
Making the cut along with leader Juarez in the amateur division are Derek Gray of Lafayette (29-14); Rick Grover of Trabuco Canyon (29-5); David Swendseid of Bend, Oregon (28-2); Txawitas Tas Moua of Fresno (26-4); Bruce Harris of Oakdale (26-4); Travis Williams of Stockton (26-1); Geoff Peterson of Huntington Beach (25-13); Aaron Echternkamp of Moses Lake, Washingotn (25-8); and Matthew Diaz of Pomona (25-8).
The top 33 amateurs finish in the money.
