The B.A.S.S. Nation Western Regional opened its three-day run Wednesday at Clear Lake with 110 professionals and 110 co-anglers representing 11 different western states competing for cash and prizes and a chance to advance to the circuit’s national championships later this year. The field will be cut after Thursday’s second round in both the pro and co-angler divisions. It’s one of two Bassmaster tournaments currrently taking place at the same time on Clear Lake as the 2018 Carhartt College Western Tour is also going on. Tournament headquarters for both tournaments is the Konocti Vista Casino, Resort and Marina in Lakeport. Weigh-ins begin at 2 p.m. each day and are open to the public.
