There’s no place like home and the Middletown Mustangs hope a healthy dose of home cooking will serve them well come Saturday when they host El Molino of Forestville in the quarterfinal round of the North Coast Section Division IV baseball playoffs at Wes Martin Field at 1 p.m. The top-seeded Mustangs have the opportunity to become the first Lake County baseball team since Clear Lake in 1998 to win a sectional baseball title. Middletown’s Aiden Skinner (above) appeared to be easy prey on this slide at the plate but somehow managed to wiggle his way around the tag in Middletown’s 2-1 North Central League I title-clinching victory over St. Helena last week in St. Helena.
