UKIAH >> The final roster is out for the 10th annual NCL West vs. NCL East high school baseball All-Star game, which takes place Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. at the Mendocino College baseball field.
Graduating seniors from Lake, Mendocino, Sonoma and Napa counties are participating in the game. Players from Clear Lake, Kelseyville, Lower Lake, Middletown and St. Helena high schools comprise the East squad, which will be managed by Middletown head coach Jeff Mielke. Players from Cloverdale, Fort Bragg, Laytonville, Sonoma Academy, Technology and Willits high schools comprise the West squad, which will be managed by Willits’ Rick Yadon.
The East vs. West All-Star game is presented by the Cloverdale American Legion in honor of John “Dutch” Lyons, one of the game’s founders. It’s the final time these players representing the North Central League I, NCL II and NCL III will wear their high school colors.
There is no admission fee to the game but contributions are accepted (please make checks payable to American Legion Post 293). A concession stand will be in operation where food, drinks and T-shirts will be available. You can also purchase raffle tickets for giveaway items. All proceeds are used to fund future All-Star games.
