LAKEPORT >> It was Hillside Powersports Ladies Night on Saturday at the Lakeport Speedway where the racing card included bandoleros, bombers, Jammers, jalopies, Lakeport modifieds and Pro-4 modifieds.
Bandoleros
Make that a clean sweep for the No. 44 car driven by Lane Anderson, who won the trophy dash, the heat race and the main event. In the feature race, Anderson took the checkered flag in front of competitors Charles French, TJ Sorrels and Trey Daniels.
French also finished second in the trophy dash and heat race.
Bombers
Mike Sullivan held off Lauren Snider for the win in the trophy dash and then edged out Snider for first place in the heat race. Snider got even by winning the main event, crossing the finish line first in front of Wade Coleman, David Jones, Evan Smith and Trevor Abella.
Jammers
Kylei Keown won everything in the Junior Jammers division, beating out Christian Sanchez in the heat race and main event.
In the Pro Jammers class, Justin Moran also scored a clean sweep. He won the trophy dash, heat race and main event. In the main event, Moran beat out Danny Helm and Gene Odell Sr.
Jalopies
The mud was flying for the eight cars competing in the jalopy division where Jack Schleif was able to hold off Wayne Hunt for the win in the main event. Close behind were William Byrne in third place, Valicia Catching in fourth and Adam Drishell in fifth.
Catching won the trophy dash, edging out runner-up Hunt, and she also won the heat race where Robert Portluck Jr. came in second.
Modifieds
Charlie Collins won the modified main event, driving his No. 37 car to victory in front of Shelby Helm, Cole Brown, Kevin Coburn and Gene Odell.
Brown won the trophy dash and Coburn was second. Collins won the heat race in front of Richard Knight, Helm, Brown and Coburn.
Pro-4s
It was a good night for Mike Peterson in the Pro-4 modified division as he won both the trophy dash and main event. In the main event, Peterson finished ahead of Andy Leuzinger, Jimmy Sorrels, Johnny Barker and Marty Lewis. Barker finished second behind Peterson in the trophy dash. In the heat race, Leuzinger took top honors and Lewis was the runner-up.
Schedule
Racing action switches to the Ukiah Speedway on Saturday for a full racing card that includes the one and only visit this season by the North State Modified Series, which features several Lake County drivers. This weekend’s Budweiser Blast also features the bandoleros, bombers, Legends and Pro-4 modifieds. General admission is $12, senior citizens and students pay $9, and children ages 6-11 are $6.
