LAKEPORT >> While several thousand ballots remain to be processed and counted for the 2018 Primary Election, the Lake County Registrar of Voters Office invites the public to view a manual tally of the ballots early next week.
The public event will take place on Monday, June 25 at 9 a.m. in room 209 of the Lake County Courthouse (255 North Forbes St.).
According to the Registrar of Voters Office, a minimum of one percent of randomly selected precincts for the June 5 Election will be manually tallied.
“Observers are invited to view the manual tally of the ballots, but shall not interfere with the election process,” the Voters Office said in a Tuesday evening statement.
The latest update on ballots still needing to be counted amounted to 6,062, with a total of 5,289 vote-by-mail ballots remaining.
