Although applications were shared with high school seniors all around the lake, it was two Kelseyville High School students that received vocational scholarships from Lakeport Women’s Civic Club on June 7 at their Senior Award Ceremony. Helen Finch presented the two $1,000 awards to Esgar Eguirre who wishes to attend Mendocino College to study Administration of Justice and Israel Gonzalez who is going to study diesel mechanics at Universal Technical Institute. The Lakeport Women’s Civic Club said they are ‘very proud of and gratified by their efforts to support and encourage students who wish to take up trades and vocational careers that are so vital to our communities.
