LAKE COUNTY >> The start of the 2018 fire season in Lake County has begun with the Pawnee Fire, and more homes in the community have been lost. Habitat for Humanity Lake County is accepting applications now to assist those in need.

Funds are available to assist eligible low-income survivors. Anyone whose home was lost or damaged in any of Lake County’s wildfires, are low income and have limited means to rebuild or repair one’s home, is encouraged to contact Deborah Vaughan at Habitat for Humanity at 707-994-1100 ext. 106 for a pre-application or to discuss needs. One may also stop by their office at 15312 Lakeshore Dr., Clearlake behind IGA Foods Etc.

To donate to the Habitat for Humanity Fire Rebuild Fund visit their website at www.lakehabitat.org or mail donations to PO Box 1830, Lower Lake, CA 95457. Anyone interested in donating time and expertise, particularly in the construction of homes for fire survivors, contact Cecilia Nelson at 707-994-1100 ext. 103 for project locations and needs.

“Habitat for Humanity Lake County is here to help,” the nonprofit organization said. “Together we can continue rebuilding and strengthening our community and getting families back into their homes.”
