The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center is without telephone capabilities due to a damaged telecommunications line, the department reported Thursday.
At approximately 2:40 p.m. a car damaged a telecommunications line in the North Lakeport area. AT&T is currently working to repair the damaged line. However, officials warned there is no estimated time on when the repairs will be completed.
All 9-1-1 likes have been routed to other 9-1-1 centers to be dispersed to the proper public safety agencies.
Moreover, during this time, the normal LCSO Dispatch telephone lines are not operational and are not able to be transferred. Residents requiring emergency response are asked to please dial 9-1-1, but those who do not require emergency response are asked not to use the 9-1-1 system until lines are operational once more.
The Sheriff’s office stated once the phone service has been restored, residents will be alerted with another advisory message.
