
Members of the Big Valley Hall in Lakeport invite you to join them from 7 to 11 pm on Saturday, July 28 to help raise funds for the NCO Pawnee Fire Fund. The Big Valley Hall is located at 1510 Big Valley Rd at the Finley/Lakeport border.
Come early for some tasty dancing blues by “South County”, from Sonoma County. Sean “Mudcat” Parnell is a blues harmonica player most known for fronting “Dirty Red Barn”. Eric Navas is a guitar slinger and vocalist that joins Sean in bringing some youthful energy to the frontline. Guitarist
Jody Counter has many years experience playing with his own band, Arizona and the Volunteers and many others. Marcus David is a well-traveled drummer, graphic artist, and raconteur. He has toured with the likes of Huey Lewis, Albert King, Nick Gravenites and guitar legend John Cipollina. Pete Rochelle has been banging out the big bass beat since his early days on the mean streets of Chicago and has played with the late Jr. Wells, the Ed Earley Band, and Arizona and the Volunteers, to name a few.
Representing Lake County will be The Mark Weston Band, a three piece cover/original classic rock dance band. Lead guitarist and vocalist Mark Weston is also proficient on drums, bass, keyboards and mandolin and has shared the stage with such great acts as: Cheap Trick, REO Speedwagon and Blackhawk. Bass player Kent Hayden has played with The King Beats, Double G Force, Rhythm and Vine, Stax City, and Hearts ‘n Bones. Drummer Fred Hartnett honed his chops at various venues in Texas, Montana, California and in Europe at many U.S.O Tours. He has lent his percussive talents to other groups such as GreyBeard, Central Park and Broken Ground.
Entry costs $10. Wine donated by Don Angel Cellars, Kaz Winery and Mt. Konocti Winery will be sold. Beer was donated by Kelsey Creek Brewing and Coors. Soda and water will also be for sale. Please bring cold dishes, fresh fruit or cookies for potluck snacks.
There will be two raffle prizes of table seats to the next fire benefit at the Soper Reese Theatre on September 15 with The Funky Godfather, a 10 piece band specializing in James Brown hits. Silent auction items have been donated by: One Earth Studio, Creative HomeWorkz, Butterflies, Tina’s Jewels, Toni Martin-Hyden, Lorna Sue Sides and other community members. Gift certificates have been donated by two businesses new to Lakeport: TurboTech Computer and Juicy’s Pizza. Brad White of Brad White Blues Productions and American Plumbing Co. stepped up to become the event sponsor.
