Clearlake >> Andrew White will replace Timothy Celli, the current interim chief, as Police Chief of the City of Clearlake Thursday evening at a swearing-in ceremony to be held at the Clearlake Senior Community Center. The event will begin at 6 p.m. Mayor Bruno Sabatier, Vice Mayor Phil Harris, the three City Council members, and City Manager Greg Folsom will be in attendance.

At the Clearlake City Council meeting on July 12, Folsom proposed the Council’s selection of White as the new Chief of Police. The selection was unanimous in White’s favor. White has told the Record-Bee that he is “excited about the opportunity” to become Clearlake’s new police chief.

White is leaving his role as Commander of the Suisun City Police Department Wednesday, and will begin work as Chief of Police for Clearlake Monday, July 30. At 33, he carries with him 17 years of law enforcement experience, including 15 with Suisun City and other experience in Napa, including 11 years of law enforcement training instruction experience.

The swearing-in ceremony will take the place of the regular City Council meeting, typically held at City Hall in Clearlake. Members of the public are encouraged to attend the ceremony.

The Clearlake Senior Community Center is located at 3245 Bowers Ave. The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m.
