Kelseyville >> Preparations are underway for the Lake County Land Trust’s annual Dinner with Direction: Preserving the Lands of Lake County. The dinner will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13, at Boatique Winery, from 4 to 8 p.m. The event will feature both silent and live auctions, live music, and Assemblywoman Cecilia Aguiar-Curry as the evening’s keynote speaker.

“Considering the beautiful venue, the wonderful group of supporters who usually turn out for this event, and the caliber of entertainment, information, food and wine that will be provided, we expect everyone to completely enjoy themselves”, said Val Nixon, Lake County Land Trust (LCLT) Board President.

Tickets, $85 each, can be purchased by visiting the Land Trust’s website, www.lakecountylandtrust.org, or by calling 707-262-0707. Catering by Fresh and Bangin’, featured Lake County wines, and entertainment are all included in the price.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the maintenance and stewardship of LCLT’s existing properties and acquisition of land parcels that are part of the Land Trust’s Conservation Priority Plan. This plan identifies the areas that are most critical for the health of our watersheds, especially Clear Lake, as well as wildlife corridors, and historically or biologically unique lands. Key stakeholders including local community leaders and state and local resource agencies consulted on these targeted areas.

The Lake County Land Trust owns &/or manages four properties, including Rabbit Hill in Middletown, the Rodman Preserve in Upper Lake, Boggs Lake in the Cobb/ Kelseyville area, and the Big Valley Wetlands/Melo Property in South Lakeport along the shores of Clear Lake. The trust, with lots of community support, also protected the Black Forest near Buckingham, and oversees three conservation easements.

Sponsorships for the annual Dinner with Direction: Preserving the Lands of Lake County are also available. For more information, contact the Lake County Land Trust at outreach@lakecountylandtrust.org or 707-262-0707.
