The Clear Lake High School volleyball team has a lot of new faces after losing seven seniors and nearly its entire starting lineup to graduation after a banner 29-7 campaign in 2017 that included a share of the North Central League I title and a deep run into the Northern California Division V playoffs. Veteran head coach Marci Psalmonds has a new junior varsity coach this season, none other than daughter Morgan Psalmonds, a 2013 Clear Lake graduate and most recently a graduate of Humboldt State University. The Cardinals open their 2018 schedule with road matches on Tuesday against Colusa and Wednesday against Upper Lake.
