UPPER LAKE >> Daniella Santana doesn’t know why Upper Lake’s offense suddenly came alive on Wednesday afternoon against the Anderson Valley Panthers in a non-league girls soccer game, she’s only happy it did, no questions asked.

“I have no idea why,” Santana said. “We just came here and scored some goals today.”

Upper Lake built a 4-0 halftime lead en route to a 7-0 non-league victory that was spearheaded by Katlyn Minnis’ four-goal day on the pitch. Vanessa Loans Arrow added two more goals and Karlee Zimmerschied contributed a goal and two assists.

Upper Lake, now 2-4 on the season, spent most of the game on Anderson Valley’s side of the field.

“They didn’t see much action,” Santana said of Upper Lake’s defenders, “but they cleared what came their way.”

Santana said she didn’t make any dramatic lineup changes but that moving Mallory Henry to the midfield helped Upper Lake push the ball forward to its strikers.

Upper Lake returns to action Tuesday in Santa Rosa against Roseland Collegiate Prep. Game time is 4:30 p.m.

In other girls soccer action Wednesday:

Tech 10, Clear Lake 0

At Rohnert Park, the Technology High School Titans scored eight times in the first half and shut out the Clear Lake Cardinals in non-league action.

Clear Lake is now 1-4 on the season.

No other game details were reported.
