The 2018 Lake County Fair “The Great Escape” provided the community plenty of excitement and fun through this past Labor Day weekend including a Jr. Rabbit and Cavy Show and the Fiesta of the Horse on Thursday, Mud Boggs and live music including “Blues Rock,” the Jr. Livestock Auction Saturday, which according to organizers, broke all previous records for buyers, free contests, “Fiesta Latina Day” on Sunday and plenty of grandstand entertainment including a bird show and the popular boat races. Following the devastation of the Mendocino Complex fire, this year’s fair was a welcome respite for displaced residents and also a great place to showcase the local efforts of 4H clubs and regional FFA organizations, among many others to visitors and residents of Lake County.
