BOONVILLE >> Winners for only the second time this season, the Upper Lake Cougars did it in style on Wednesday night with a 25-22, 25-17, 25-16 victory over the Anderson Valley Panthers in a non-league varsity volleyball match at Boonville.
Upper Lake’s junior varsity squad also came away with a win, 25-16, 27-25.
In the varsity match, standouts for Upper Lake were Seneca Snow with eight kills and six aces, Adriana Lopez with seven kills, and Neveah Solorio with four kills and six aces.
“They played really, really, really good,” Upper Lake coach Dani Paige Gudmundson Pena said. “It was really nice to watch.”
In the JV match, Cadence Santana led the way with six kills and four aces.
Upper Lake resumes its North Central League II schedule on Tuesday with a match at Tomales.
