LAKE COUNTY — Mike Rothstein of Lakeport teamed up with Adam Martin of Upper Lake to win the annual two-day Triton Boat Owners team bass tournament held Saturday and Sunday on Clear Lake.

Rothstein and Martin combined for a two-day weight of 38.84 pounds for 10 fish. They found themselves in third place following Saturday’s opening round with 16.98 pounds, but on Sunday they brought 21.86 pounds to the weigh scale. They anchored they weight with an 8.68-pound big fish caught on Sunday. Their winnings came to $2,900.

Rothstein said they caught more than 30 bass each day of the tournament and most were taken on an LV-500 lipless crankbait in the north end of the lake. He said their big fish on Sunday was caught with only 15 minutes remaining before the weigh-in.

Rothstein has now won the tournament three times and is the only angler to do so. The tournament drew 48 boats.
