The truth of Ford’s testimony
A deaf ear was turned toward Mary Blasey Ford’s testimony at last week’s Senate Hearing concerning Brett Kavanaugh’s suitability as a Supreme Court Judge. The Republicans did not want to acknowledge the veracity of what Ford had to say.
Now, this week the Record-Bee published an opinion piece in Tuesday’s, October 9th editorial page titled “Stop the Trashing,” by right wing conservative, Kathryn J. Lopez, founding director of Catholic Voices USA.
Lopez doesn’t want to hear any more complaints; or see any negative newspaper headlines about Kavanaugh, the man who Ford testified, put his hand over her mouth so no one could hear her scream for help while he sexually assaulted her, and witness, Mark Judge, sat and watched in amusement .
Trump’s base also sat in amusement and laughed while Trump belittled Ford’s testimony during a political rally.
So now, like the covering of Ford’s mouth, does the “Right” want to cover the mouth of anyone still complaining about the injustice that played out in the U.S. Senate’s appointment of Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court ?
Swing Left. Vote in November. The truth of Ford’s testimony can still be verified.

Redbud Health Care District candidate
I would like to give you a background on one of the candidates seeking the position of Director of Redbud Health Care District.
Her name is Sandra Richards. I have known her for over 30 years and worked with her on community projects over the years.
Not only does she have a very diverse medical background but she is a member of one of Lake County’s oldest nonprofit
Women’s Club and has served over the years, the positions of Treasurer three times; auditing the books twice and has filled the
position of Recording Secretary. She has been active in many of the fundraisers to raise funds for the club’s scholarship program.
In my opinion, I feel this candidate can fill and meet the requirements to do what is required as a Director for your organization.
During her many years of nursing she has performed well beyond what had been expected of her. She is “people friendly” and has
the stamina to survive whatever passes through her threshold. She is fair and impartial and puts forth ideas for improvement where
needed or necessary.
She currently is working with contractors overseeing the rebuilding of her church, which was destroyed in the Lower Lake fire. For
all of these reasons and more, I believe she will be a great asset to your organization and it is with great pleasure in recommending
Sandra Richards for this position.

No more free advertising to the president
For more than three years we have seen how the media: press, radio, television, etc. have been making free publicity to the candidate and now president, repeating his name and surname constantly. It is valued in more than $2 million free advertising during the election campaign.
The president accuses the media in the most blatant, insulting and aggressive manner of being the number one enemies of the American people. The aggression to the media is increasing reaching extreme situations, such as not allowing the presence or even expelling journalists from their press conferences or presentations of their Reality-Fake. This fanfare is extremely harmful to journalists in the United States and the world, perhaps we could relate to the horrible attack that the press suffered in Annapolis, Maryland with the balance of five fatalities.
Attacks on the press are a cruel attack on the Constitution, freedom of expression and the right of every citizen to be well informed. The damage that is being done to the country in general and to the press in particular must stop immediately and definitively; if the Republicans do not dare and the Democrats cannot, perhaps the journalists themselves should do it. The media should boycott the president’s name, with absolute silence to everything he says, writes or does. In cases where there is no other choice, they can use alternatives such as: President, the Executive, the Administration, etc.
Please, for the sake of democracy, of the country with our families and future generations, let us all join in the boycott; do not repeat the name or surname of the president. Please, no more free publicity for the president.
