LAKE COUNTY — The E Center Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) released its November 2018 clinic schedule. The nationwide, federally sponsored WIC nutrition program provides nutrition education, support and help with breastfeeding, community and healthcare referrals, and checks for supplemental food to eligible pregnant women, new moms, postpartum women, infants, and children under the age of five. WIC encourages enrollment of migrants and eligible women in the early months of pregnancy. Single fathers, foster parents and guardians of children under age five are also eligible to enroll their children. Formula supplementation is available for infants. The food packs include fruits, vegetables, eggs, cheese, milk, cereal, juice, whole grains, and beans or peanut butter. This non-profit program has generous income guidelines. For example, a family of four can have a yearly gross income of $46,435 and still be eligible for the health benefits of the WIC program. - Lakeport, at the WIC office, 831 Bevins Street, on Monday November 19, Tuesdays November 6, 13, 20 & 27, Wednesday November 7 (PM Only) and Friday November 30. (Schedule is 8 AM to 5 PM with lunch from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.)
- Clearlake, 14085-4 Lakeshore Drive, (Across from Main St. Café), Monday November 26, Wednesday November 21, Thursdays November 1, 8, 15 & 29 and Friday November 16. (Schedule is 8 AM to 5 PM with lunch from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.)
- Middletown, First Baptist Church, 15576 Graham Road, Friday November 2nd from 9:15 – 11:30am and 12:30-2:30pm
- Lucerne, First Lutheran Church, 3863 Country Club Drive, Friday November 9th from 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 – 2:30pm
