This Sunday, Nov. 25, is Christ the King Sunday at Galilee (and all over).  This is the final week of the church year.  We began the year with Advent and Christmas, the work and teachings of Jesus, the introspection of Lent, the three-day journey to the cross, the resurrection of Easter, the birth of the church at Pentecost and the growth of the new church…and we end with the celebration of the Christ taking his place on the throne as King of the universe.  It’s quite a journey.  And on Dec. 2 we begin it all over again with the first Sunday of Advent.

Joining us again this Sunday is the Rev. Galen Gallimore from Ukiah.  Janis Andre will give a brief talk on one of our identified values, “Challenges.”  We at Galilee certainly have seen our share of challenges in the past five years, with more to come.  Where will next year lead us?  Paying off our mortgage, calling an intern to serve us in the fall, finding new ways to serve our community and neighbors…?  What does the future hold?

One thing we know…God is in control, Christ is on his throne, and our future is in good hands.  Thankfully, not ours.

At Galilee Lutheran Church, we invite everyone.  We invite people of all races and economic status.  We invite experienced Christians, those looking for faith and those damaged by the church.  We invite everyone along the gender and sexual orientation spectrum.  We want to share God’s love with you.

We invite you, especially, to join us at 10 a.m. each Sunday morning.  During December, we will be holding our weekly Bible study on Tuesday nights at 6 p.m., followed by a 45-minute Advent service at 7:15.  Parking, as always, is free.
