Support for the Lakeport Fire Personnel
American Restoration in conjunction with Lake County Gus, are donating a brand-new Shotgun. This shotgun will be raffle off and all proceeds will go to Fire Station 50 (Lakeport Fire Personnel).
As most of the community is already aware the Lakeport Fire department personnel is being reduced by almost half. As members of the community, we would like to extend our gratitude for their hard work and dedication by supporting the Lake Fire Department personnel.
We urge our community to come out and support the brave men and women of our local fire department.
Tickets can be purchased at First Pick Builders and American Restoration located at 2480 S. Main St. Lakeport CA 95453.
The winners will be announced on Dec. 28, 2018, at noon. Tickets are limited to 200 the cost of a ticket is $20 (or if all 200 tickets sold) A drawing will be held the following business day.

Christmas celebration at the Soper Reese
A “Funky Dozen” celebration of Christmas comes to the Soper Reese Theatre at 7 pm on Friday, Dec. 21. This local favorite band blends fun and funk to keep people on the dance floor all night long. Led by Larry Thompson, the group focuses primarily on favorites from the 1970s, but also pulls the best from the 80s and 90s.
As the name suggests, the band features twelve talented musicians, but not always the same 12. It’s a fluid mixture of core members and new musicians who bring great infusions of style and experience, helping the band stay true to its roots while it continues to grow and evolve, and always creating a powerful sound. The group’s trademark is a melding of classic guitar and percussion, with a brass section to blow the roof off, and topped with vocalists who use their voices as instruments in their own right.
Current band members include first-timers out to make a name for themselves, as well as seasoned Grammy winners who have played with Alex Degrassi, John Mattern, and David Raitt. Current lead vocalists include Kristin Petersen, Cynthia Ganoung, Mary Swehla, and Steven Pulido. Musical influences include Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Aretha Franklin, KC and the Sunshine Band, Sly and the Family Stone, James Brown, the Isley Bros, and Patty Labelle.
