WILLITS — Four Middletown High School wrestlers placed second and another came in third on Friday at the Coastal Mountain Conference Novice Tournament in Willits.

“Overall it was a very good day,” Middletown High School coach Brian Hunt said. “Most of our kids have had about two weeks of practice. They wrestled hard and we’re looking forward to seeing how they progress this season.”

Finishing second in their respective weight classes were Jayde Miles (120-pound girls), Anthony Mikel (126), Teagen Oliver (126) and Ruben Cortez (132). Shane Guill (132) came in third.

Middletown’s junior varsity boys compete Saturday at Elsie Allen High School in Santa Rosa. The Mustangs’ varsity boys and varsity girls return to action Dec. 8 – the girls in Yuba City and the boys in McKinleyville.
