This Sunday we celebrate the fourth and last Sunday in the season of Advent at 10 am. Advent is the beginning of the church year…the time before Christmas, when God came to earth in human form, solely because “God so loved the world….”  The service will be led by the Reverend Galen Gallimore from Ukiah’s Grace Lutheran Church.

On Monday, Christmas Eve, at 7 pm, Galilee will hold our traditional Candlelight Service led by our own Craig Waters.  Lots of music and the appearance of a special guest!  We invite you to come and worship.  As we reach out to grasp God’s hand, we also reach out with our other hand to connect with our community and neighbors.  And with our other hand…I know, we’re out of hands…we reach out to other churches and ministries who worship the same Savior, but with different traditions and practices.  Lutheran, Catholic, Baptist, Mennonite…we’re all in this together, and the birth of Jesus is the hub that holds the wheel together.

So carpenters, shepherds, or wise men…or, as Martin Luther said, those of us who are “asses and sheep”…gather ’round the manger this year and remember the baby that brings us all new life.

Galilee Lutheran Church is expectantly located at 8860 Soda Bay Road in the Kelseyville Rivieras.  We’re also on FaceBook.
