A community’s Commercial aspect is both the anchor and the working, provisional mechanism of that community’s economic health.

When Commercial real estate cycles through its sales and purchases of existing establishments, its new site development, or its re-development of blighted aspects, it is the region’s and its communities’ heartbeat in motion.  Without a healthy, active commercial base, a community cannot thrive.

Everything in a given community, one way or another, depends on its economic flow patterns in order to stabilize, expand, sustain and serve the community.  When a region is in broad transition (for instance, following a disaster, or in a dramatic growth phase) it is the Commercial part of its identity that is in the forefront for re-stabilization or expansion.   Commercial sales, purchases and maintenance are essential in order to achieve or re-establish balance.

In order to attract and acquire new business from the outside, we first must identify what kind of business we want based on what is needed and what will fit in with our long-range plan. Then, research all relevant criteria and take appropriate action!   Are there parts of existing attractions or businesses in our communities that could better serve the plan by augmenting their services, expanding their facility or bringing in compatible business neighbors?

Revisiting established zoning is important.   Knowing what is possible (and where) helps keep efforts on track.  If there are existing city or County “long-range, established plans” that spell out all the projections – know them and use them.  For growth and expansion to move forward as efficiently and profitably as possible, we depend heavily on the expertise, knowledge and experience of our Commercial real estate professionals.
