CLEARLAKE

Man with drugs and money arrested

Fifty-six-year-old Clearlake resident Roger Vigil was stopped in a car by Clearlake on Friday morning by police officer M. Barreto for a simple vehicle code violation, according to a news released from the Clearlake Police Department.

According to law enforcement, from outside the car, the officer observed a bag of methamphetamine in plain view near the center console. Vigil was immediately arrested. During a search of Vigil’s clothing, additional methamphetamine was located to include a significant amount of currency.

During a further search of the car, officers found more drugs inside and drug paraphernalia. Vigil admitted some of the over one-ounce of methamphetamine found was intended for sales. The car Vigil had been driving was later found to have false license plates on it and was towed. He was later booked into the Lake County Jail on felony charges of possession of narcotics for sale, transportation of narcotics and forged vehicle registration.
