LAKE COUNTY — The Lake County Junior High Athletic league A-division and B-division girls basketball championship tournament runs Thursday through Saturday at Terrace Middle School in Lakeport.
Competing in both the A and B divisions are the Terrace Middle School Vikings, the Upper Lake Wildcats, the Mountain Vista Lancers, the Middletown Broncos and the Konocti Rams. The Lucerne Lady Eagles compete only in the B division.
B division
Action in the seventh-grade bracket begins Thursday with a pair of first-round games. No. 4 seed Konocti (4-6) plays No. 5 seed Mountain Vista (2-8) in the early game at 4 p.m. while No. 3 seed Middletown (7-3) plays No. 6 seed Lucerne (0-10) in the late game at 5:15 p.m.
On Friday, No. 2 seed Upper Lake (8-2) plays the Middletown-Lucerne winner at 4 p.m., and No. 1 seed Terrace (9-1) plays the Konocti-Mountain Vista winner at 5:15 p.m.
Three games takes place on Saturday. Fifth place is at 10 a.m., third place is at 11:15 a.m. and first place is at 1:45 p.m.
A division
The lone Thursday game in the A division matches No. 4 seed Mountain Vista (2-6) against No. 5 seed Konocti (0-8). The winner of that game draws No. 1 seed Upper Lake (7-1) on Friday in the late game at 7:45 p.m. The early game Friday pairs No. 2 Terrace (8-2) against No. 3 Middletown (5-3). Friday’s winners meet in the championship game Saturday at 3 p.m. Friday’s losers play for third place Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
Admission
Admission prices to the tournament are $3 for adults and $2 for children on Friday, and $5 for adults and $3 for children on Saturday. A snack bar will be up and running throughout the tournament. A barbecue dinner on Friday and Saturday offers tri-tip sandwiches ($6 or $8 for meal), hamburgers ($5 or $7 for meal), cheeseburgers ($6 or $8 for meal) and hot dogs ($4 or $6 for meal).
Terrace Middle School is located at 250 Lange Street in Lakeport.
