Litter signs can help keep parks and recreation areas cleaner
A news item regarding Mount Everest just caught my eye. Here is one time we might thinking about being a little more like the Tibetens. They have closed their base camp to all tourists until further notice in order to fight sky-high litterbugs.
I have always wondered why people carry in and leave their carry-ins as trash for you and me to pay for carrying it out. Think of that in terms of our state and local parks just here in Lake County. Why don’t we put up signs and ask people to take out what they carry in and if caught leaving it, there will be a penalty. It would make our parks and recreation areas cleaner, safer and certainly more beautiful. It would also cut county costs.
There are some no litter signs along roads, but how many fines are collected?
Think a little more – What does it cost the federal government (again our taxes) to carry out what others carry in and leave in our national parks, on our sea shores, and in nature areas?
Think about it folks. Environmentally, doesn’t it make sense?

CalWater mismanagement leads to proposed rate hikes
CalWater is asking for 10.8 percent for 2020, 3 percent for 2021, and 3 percent for 2022 in Lucerne. They know they won’t get this, but they will take a smaller amount to show how good they are. They expect to get something. They feel sure.
I call their rate hike mismanagement. They knew they bought a broke down company to start with. Fixing it is a cost of doing business. Not our problem. I think we should ask for a 20 percent reduction, but consider a smaller amount.
Like a one million dollar filter that doesn’t work and charging us use tax each month. They borrowed a million dollar zero interest loan from the government (we the people). Then charging us (we the people) until it’s paid back. Then they claim it’s theirs not ours (we the people).
All they wanted were the water rights, to control all the states water. California Water meaning state is worth billions. Greed and power are the only reasons. No land in the state guarantees a private company a profit.

Fodder for thought
In regards to your cartoon Feb. 6, 2019 depicting a big screen of President Trump at a KKK Rally with over 100 members in attendance (I counted the figures). You will not be able to point to a time in the past 50 years when over 100 white hooded KKK members assembled, let alone supporting Pres. Trump. Then you double down with an article that the author starts off with his visit to Auschwitz, then melds it into an anti-American event that happened in 1939, then again melds it into a anti-Trump rant. His title “Trump Learn from History” is about as hypocritical as you can get because Israel is protected by walls? The author is a product of the far far left teachings of UC Bezerkley! His column states he is an immigrant from Israel but is he a US Citizen? I don’t find this in a search so why should I care about anything he says? He states in his blog that Mitch McConnell should resign because he found a picture of him standing in front of a Confederate Flag, no time line given.
I want to know why you would want to piss off what you have left of your readership with these messages? Don’t you think America has had enough of the Anti-Trump hate speech, i.e. CBS, ABS, NBS, PMSNBS, CNN (the Clinton News Network), 24/7? This is supposed to be a local news newspaper.
Finally, you can find a far left loon who’s blog has only been up for a couple of years but you can’t publish local letters to the editor or does this fit the narrative of your paper from here on? You are starting to lose even me.
